Frequently Asked Questions
Can I get my prescriptions filled at Mountain Hope Clinic?
Although we do not operate as a pharmacy we do keep some medications, such as antibiotics and antihistamines, on hand for our patients' convenience. We also assist our patients with chronic medicinal needs by helping them get on the appropriate pharmaceutical assistance program. We dispense these medicines to the patients once approval is received from the pharmaceutical company. We are not able to fill prescriptions written by other physicians or medical clinics, nor do we prescribe or dispense narcotics.
What Dental services do you provide?
At present we are doing non-surgical extractions of abscessed teeth and basic dental hygiene. We hope to provide a broader range of dental services in the future.
Can I get immunization shots at Mountain Hope Clinic?
We do not provide immunizations here. The Sevier County Health Department provides immunizations for children.
Do you treat out of town visitors?
The Mountain Hope Clinic is set up to care for uninsured people who live and/or work in Sevier County. There are a number of walk-in clinics in the area that take care of our visitors.
What if I have insurance?
Our Mission Statement supports the goal of providing care to the County's uninsured. There are a number of healthcare providers in the area for people with insurance. Mountain Hope Clinic is the only facility in the county to cater to the needs of the uninsured exclusively. We must exclude patients with insurance since they have more options.
Why do you require proof of income?
We realize that our patients have differing abilities to pay. By looking at the total household income and the number of people who reside in the household we can better make an equitable decision on the percentage rate to charge.
