Mountain Hope Good Shepherd Clinic relies heavily on a group of approximately 30 active volunteers to help the Clinic provide quality healthcare to our ever-expanding number of patients. The money saved by having such a dedicated group of volunteers allows us to keep our costs lower than we could possibly manage if we had to fill these positions with paid staff. Please click on the Volunteer tab to see how you can help. |

Medical students, nursing students and dental hygiene students from different universities rotate through the Clinic. These students come from East Tennessee State University, Carson Newman College, Walters State Community College, Vanderbilt University, Lincoln Memorial University, Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing, Tennessee Wesleyan, Clemson and Duke University. The partnership with East Tennessee State University gives medical, nursing, dental hygiene, and public health students educational opportunities in a clinic setting and provides Mountain Hope Clinic with “providers in training” to assist with patient care.
